About Me

I’m Amy, a pet portrait artist originally from Surrey, now living in picturesque West Yorkshire with my husband, daughter and two border terriers.

I taught myself to draw from a young age, and being horse and pony mad, I meticulously studied their anatomical form and drew them over and over again!
Becoming a professional pet portrait artist combines my passion for animals and art, along with a huge sense of satisfaction in seeing my customer’s reactions. I want people to view my work and and feel the same emotional impact they get when they see their loved ones in person. To evoke that same feeling of love tells me I have accomplished my goal as an artist.

After years of practise, I am able to share my passion professionally capturing the unique personalities of pets all over the world.

If you are thinking of having your pet commissioned, I would love to hear from you.

Photo Tips

  • It is best to use a camera as opposed to a mobile phone camera. (Camera phones are ok if it is one of a high spec).
  • Take photos of your animal outside in a natural light.
  • Try to get on your pets level (eye level) and make sure that the picture is fully in focus and there isn’t a ‘flash’ in their eyes.
  • Make sure you send the photos in their original format (don’t crop or edit the photos) as this can decrease the size and resolution of the image.
  • Send the images as an attachment

Ultimately the decision is yours on what pose / look you want from your animal as you know that certain personality they have and what portrays them best!

Below are some good examples, click on the image for a full sized version.
